A pre wedding shoot is always a good opportunity to get couples used to being in front of a camera. My documentary style of photography has minimal direction and few formal shots but it is still important that couples feel at ease with me and the camera. I don’t ‘pose’ people but I do give advice on how to achieve a more natural ‘look’ for the formal shots, for example bride and groom outside the church and for the more informal, intimate shots of the bride and groom during their day. After about twenty minutes I normally get a sense that the couple have got the hang of it all and that was certainly the case with Megan and David – I look forward to shooting their wedding at Brampton Church later on this summer
